Stephanie A. Bivens, Esq., CELA

Founding Attorney, Bivens & Associates, PLLC

Stephanie Bivens is a Phoenix native and founder of Bivens & Associates, PLLC where she practices elder law, estate planning, trust & probate administration, and special needs planning.

She holds the distinction of a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) through the National Elder Law Foundation and accredited by the State Bar of Arizona — a distinction held by fewer than 500 attorneys nationwide.

Since earning her law degree, cum laude, from Arizona State University in 1996, Stephanie has devoted over 25 years to serving clients in complex matters involving aging, incapacity, long-term care, estate and wealth preservation. Over the years, she has earned recognitions including selection to Southwest Super Lawyers in Elder Law (2019–2025) and being named one of Arizona’s Most Influential Women in Business in 2022 by AZ Big Media.

Stephanie is a sought-after speaker and legal educator, serving as faculty for continuing legal education programs through the State Bar of Arizona, Maricopa County Bar Association, NAELA, and other professional organizations. She is the published author of Private Information Guide: A Personal and Financial Organizer, How to Use Government Benefits to Pay for Long Term Care, and a contributing author to Planned Senior Moments-Scottsdale.

Her professional affiliations include membership in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), National Elder Law Foundation, the Probate & Trust Section and Mental Health & Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona, the Estate Planning & Probate Section of the Maricopa County Bar Association, the Scottsdale Bar Association and held leadership roles such as past Chair of the Mental Health & Elder Law Executive Council of the State Bar. Stephanie has also served on the boards of non-profits Aster Aging and DUET Partners in Health and Aging.

Stephanie’s dedication to her practice is deeply personal. She credits meaningful bonds with her grandparents during her upbringing in Phoenix as the inspiration for her life’s work supporting seniors and families. Outside the office, she enjoys travel and cherishes time with her husband, their two adult children, granddaughter, and their two chocolate Labradors.

Whether planning proactively or addressing urgent challenges, Stephanie brings legal depth, strategic insight, and a compassionate approach to help families preserve dignity, autonomy, and legacy.
